Gerry Birrell - pictured here at Brands Hatch paddock in 1972 driving a March 722.   He died in 1973 during practice for a Formula 2 event at Rouen. David Purley, winner of the George Medal in 1973 for his attempts to save Roger Williamson, he continued racing until 1980.  He died in 1985, flying his Pitts Special aerobatic biplane.
