Welcome
to the Racing Pages - The links on these pages reflect
a life long obsession with all forms of motor sport and and the
financially destructive hobby of buying unnecessarily expensive
road cars when a Nissan Micra would have served the same purpose
- enough said.
The
Cars button to the left goes some way to explaining where all
the money went - my latest passion being a Series 1 Elise 135
Sport which I have sworn never to part with. Toad is an amateur
by comparison.
The
constant theme of the racing pages is "I was there".
From my first trip to Oulton Park in 1965 through to witnessing
the finest single lap in motor racing history at the European
Grand Prix, Donington in 1993 - "standing on a muddy bank
watching the yellow helmet go by" (Richard Williams, The
Death of Ayrton Senna). I was there when Jo Siffert won the last
Grand Prix for Rob Walker, there for Stewart and Rindt's duel
in the sun at the 1969 British Grand Prix and there to witness
too many Mansell victories.
